Social Responsibility

"I think the desire to help other people is a really strong desire in all of us"

- Alain De Botton

Regal Angels, an initiative of Anna M Shepherd, CEO, is very involved in local and global communities.  Regal Angels is the result of nearly 45 years of service to the Community by Regal Health Services.  At Regal we believe that many people feel the need to be involved in the community and gain fulfilment by helping others.  Over 1 billion people in the world are living in poverty. The onus is on those of us who want to make a difference, to make every effort to work with people living in poverty and who are underprivileged. Our aim is to help people overcome and break the poverty cycle.   With this in mind, at Regal we believe by helping you we can in turn help others.   We have established relationships with communities all over the world and support them in helping themselves, click here to find out more.

Anna & Patricia Shepherd visit communities in Mozambique, where they have started by sending paracetamol for the HIV orphans. They also support a School in Kruger National Park, South Africa.

Regal Knitters

In 2003 Patricia R Shepherd, founder of Regal, formed the Regal Knitters to address the growing problem of older people feeling socially isolated and with time on their hands. Patricia purchases and provides wool and knitting needles to clients and their family.  The squares knitted by the volunteers are provided to the Wrap with Love program where they are assembled into Wraps to provide warmth to those living in isolation and cold. Regal Knitters have grown since 2003, to date over 10,000 squares have been sent all over the world.

Regal Angels Wise Womens' Luncheon Club

The Regal Angels Wise Womens' Luncheon Club meets every month, this is a group of what we refer to as ‘Wise Women’ who meet to discuss how we can make a difference in our world. We discuss issues affecting our community and provide comment at local forums that contribute to the notion of a society for all ages.  We are very excited with the work we are doing and how this commitment is taking momentum.
